Welcome to Hotel El Castro

Hotel El Castro is a dependable choice for travelers seeking affordable accommodation in the heart of Ciudad de México. Nestled in the vibrant Roma Norte neighborhood, at Sinaloa 32, this modest hotel offers clean, spacious rooms with basic amenities that meet the essentials without frills. Guests frequently highlight its excellent location—ideal for exploring iconic landmarks such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes, ancient Aztec temple ruins, and the lively nightlife of Zona Rosa.

With a rating of four stars, Hotel El Castro balances economy and comfort effectively. Rooms typically feature king-size beds, ensuring restful nights after busy days of sightseeing. The atmosphere is straightforward and unpretentious, with free Wi-Fi and parking adding to the convenience, although travelers should not expect luxury offerings like a pool, gym, or airport shuttle. Room service is simple, usually sandwiches and budget-friendly drinks, complementing the hotel’s no-nonsense style.

Reviews reflect a consistent experience: the hotel is notably clean and well-maintained, yet some aspects could be improved—such as updating television channels and enhancing privacy with better bathroom curtains. Staff interactions vary; most guests find the service adequate, though occasional encounters with brusque personnel have been reported. However, these minor shortcomings do not diminish the hotel’s overall value.

The hotel feels like a practical, safe retreat rather than a destination for indulgence. For short stays or budget-minded visitors who plan to spend their days exploring the city, Hotel El Castro excels. It embraces a straightforward ethos—clean rooms, decent service, and a strategic location—offering a genuine, unpretentious place to rest within a bustling metropolis.

Personally, Hotel El Castro conveys an honest charm. It carries the echoes of a bygone era, modest but sturdy, welcoming guests with quiet efficiency. While it may lack modern luxuries, it fills an important niche for travelers who prioritize location and budget without sacrificing cleanliness or basic comfort. In the bustling urban heart of Mexico City, Hotel El Castro stands as a humble yet trustworthy option for those who need a practical base for discovery and adventure.

Call before you go!! They're usually completely booked, and that is because it's a nice and very inexpensive place to stay (or spend a few hours). The place is very clean and the basic room (king size, two persons) is around 30 USD per night. There's a basic room service (sandwiches and cheap drinks). The rooms have an old t.v. but it's an awesome place if you need to stay a couple of nights. The neighborhood is safe and is close to the Metro (Insurgentes station), and there are plenty of places to eat or party.

I had a very nice stay there for two nights. Good service, nice rooms.. But in the night I have heard some doors and I saw a naked man on the corridor... maybe he was comming from the shower..
